The GOOD Gift Guide

For the team at GOOD, the greatest joy of the holiday season is seeing the people we love happy. And really, it’s been scientifically proven that the happiness we feel from giving lasts longer than happiness from receiving.

What makes a gift GOOD? The best gifts are the ones that show you truly know someone, and our favorites are the little things we really need or luxuries that we wouldn’t spring for ourselves. It can be $5 or $500—a GOOD gift shows someone that you really care. Check out some of our favorite things below!

For your Workout Motivator:

  1. A reality even we don’t want to admit: You are actually supposed to replace your yoga mat every year or so. So if you know a dedicated yogi, a new mat is likely a little luxury that they are putting off purchasing for themselves. Our hands down favorite mat is from Yoga Hustle. They carry different thicknesses for your practice preferences and were named “overall favorite pick” for best yoga mat by Good Housekeeping. Prices range from $98-$145.

  2. It’s winter. It’s cold. And sometimes its just wayyy too tempting not to get out of your warm bed to trek to the gym. Give your friend the ultimate gift—the gift of not having to bundle up to get an amazing workout. The Works, an incredible sweat studio in Charleston, SC has a streaming subscription full of classes for any mood—from a slow flow stretch to the highest intensity cardio burst. We took this class once and never stopped thinking about how incredible it was. Gift a month or two (and maybe your GOOD friend will let you join in for some classes, too!).

For the New Parent:

  1. Is someone in your life expecting? She’ll get gifted PLENTY of onesies and swaddles for baby, we swear. Pamper HER a little bit with this luxurious belly oil from Hatch. It helps reduce stretch marks and scars, and has a happy, citrus-y scent. Not to mention, this once had a waitlist thousands of people long. Grab it for her while you can.

  2. What do all new parents wish they had more of? TIME. Take one thing off their to do list with meal delivery from Purple Carrot. This plant based meal service takes the guess work out of dinner time with delicious recipes that come together super quickly. Psst - short on time? This is a gift that you can send instantly via e-gift card.

For the Friend Who Never Forgets Their Reusable Straw:

  1. A tumbler from CAUS. There are lots of tumblers out there to choose from, but this one gives back to the cause of your choosing every time you make a purchase. We call that a GOOD win-win. $26

  2. A trendy reusable tote from our friends at Happies Better. We love that this bag goes crossbody, so you can sling your gym clothes or your groceries over your shoulder anytime. $34.

For the Vintage Lover:

  1. For that friend who always answers your compliments with “It’s vintage”. Fairy Dust Bands/ Bracelets from The Artemisian are sure to please.

  2. Raise your hand if you still have a collection of old cassette & CD mix tapes that you painstakingly crafted to reflect how you felt about your middle school crush… No? Just us?? Can’t be. For the friend who misses playing records and tapes, but also wants a bluetooth option from time to time, this compact entertainment center from Crosley does it all.

For your Soul Sister:

  1. Get her something unique that no one else has and that will hold your wanderlust over until your next girls trip. Jewelry from From Isla is ocean inspired and donates 10% of proceeds to ocean conservation.

  2. You share everything, and you are always her biggest cheerleader. CBD Drops and Salve from Moon + Leaf are crafted especially for women and meant to encourage us to choose to love, honor, and listen to our bodies.

  3. For the days you aren’t around to tell her how fantastic she is—gift her a set of Inner Compass cards. Pull one card a day from this deck for questions that aid on your journey of self discovery, and that awaken new opportunities within you. Plus, the imagery is absolutely gorgeous.

For the Travel Lover:

  1. We always feel a little bit extra wearing an eye mask on airplanes, but trust us, it’s a GAME CHANGER for getting actual rest. Try gifting a Silk eye-mask for the person in your life who is always on the go.

  2. Packing for weekend trips is easier when you have a pair of shoes that go with everything. Veja Sneakers can be dressed up or down, and are made of organic or recycled, fair trade materials. We might just get these for ourselves, too.

  3. The perfect addition to your travels? A pocket farmacy from Saje. 5 amazing essential oil blend roll ons, in the perfect size to throw in your bag.

For Your Favorite Coworker:

  1. Our favorite go to gift for anyone on your list? A candle that you just can’t get enough of. With scents like Lake House and Bourbon and Sandalwood, Apothenne will stand out in the sea of generic “vanilla spice” picks. Bonus points, you’ll be supporting a small, female owned company based in LA.

  2. For your favorite office lunch partner: Porter bowls are a thoughtful, sustainable, and crowd pleasing gift—everyone from our mom to our little brother loves these things. When you buy from Porter, they give back to Edible Schoolyard NYC!

  3. Make your yearly sock gift just a little more exciting.  Conscious step socks give back to different organizations every time you make a purchase.
